A special elopement in Kyoto, Japan

For their Japan elopement, Aurelija and Karolis wanted something relaxed, memorable, and most importantly, a day that truly involved their four kids.

They were legally married at the city office in the morning, and then headed back to their accommodation to get ready and spend time together before the ceremony.

When it came to the ceremony, each of the kids had a special role to play, from walking mom down the aisle, to bringing up the rings, and reading a personally written message. One of the most meaningful moments was the sand frame, where each family member took a turn adding their own layer of coloured sand, creating a single piece together. A simple, beautiful way to show what the day was really about: the joining of all of them.

The love was obvious, and so was the closeness between everyone. The sweet moments hit hard, and the silly moments kept things light and fun.

The day finished with a delicious sushi dinner, followed by singing the night away at karaoke.
